The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun state, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO has disclosed that the residents of the state are fully ready for his party to complete the rescue mission, return Osun to the path of progressive governance, responsible leadership and sustainable development.

Oyebamiji expressed delight in the warm reception of his prosperity agenda by the electorate ahead of the August 15th, 2026 governorship election.

This is just as the national leadership of the party inaugurated the National Campaign Council for the Osun Governorship Election in Abuja.

Recall that the national leadership of the party had earlier announced members of the council naming the incumbent Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, as Chairman of the CampaignCouncil.

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and House of Representatives Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas serving as Co-chairmen.

President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, was named Deputy Chairman, while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin will serve as the Secretary of the Committee.

The Council comprises serving Governors, members of National Working Committee, Principal Officers of the National Assembly, Ministers, Federal and State lawmakers, party leaders, and other stakeholders from across Nigeria.

Addressing the leaders of the party shortly after the inauguration, Oyebamiji reported to the Council that with less than eighteen days to the election, the people of Osun State have received the prosperity message with uncommon excitement.

He said: “Distinguished leaders, Osun State is ready for the All Progressives Congress to complete the rescue mission and return the State to the path of progressive governance, responsible leadership and sustainable development.

“Interestingly, our women and youths have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the ideals and promises of our great party. Only a few days ago, Her Excellency, Alhaja Kafayat Gboyega Oyetola, the former First Lady of Osun State, led thousands of women and youths in a victory walk through the streets of Osogbo; the State capital.

“That walk was only one of the numerous demonstrations of solidarity and support for our great party by the people of Osun State. We have enjoyed similar solidarity in Ila, Iragbiji, Ikire, Ile-Ife, Iwo, Osogbo, Ilesa, Ede, among others. Therefore, I am pleased and confident to report to you, our leaders, that the Osun State APC is ready to do everything lawful, legitimate and necessary to win back the governorship of the State and return it to the progressive fold.

“Our people can no longer sit and watch the enormous resources of the State being expended without equal value or meaningful improvement in their daily lives. Osun State cannot afford to be left behind in the current wave of reforms, development and economic transformation being championed by the administration of our great leader, Mr President, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

“We are firmly ready to seize this moment of national transformation and ensure that Osun State becomes an active participant and beneficiary of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Oyebamiji expressed gratitude to the members of the newly-inaugurated governorship campaign council for their readiness to commit time, energy, experience and resources towards ensuring victory for the party in the forthcoming Osun governorship election.

“With your support, guidance and commitment, we are confident that the APC will be returned to the seat of government at the Bola Ige House, Abere, on 27 November 2026. As an individual, I have greatest respect for the leadership of our great party, and as a strong party man, I pledge my loyalty to the APC without reservations. By the grace of God, and the support of our leaders, I will make all of you proud.

“The people of Osun State are ready. The Osun APC is ready. Our campaign is ready. Together, we will win. Together, we will rescue Osun State. Together, we will build a prosperous Osun State”, Oyebamiji added.
