36-Year-Old Man Charged with Stealing N800,000 Motorcycle

On Wednesday, Ibrahim Jimoh, 36, was brought before the Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ado-Ekiti, facing charges for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued at N800,000.Â
Jimoh, who does not have a fixed address, is being tried on a single count of theft. According to Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi, the theft occurred around 8:00 a.m. on July 31 at Erinfun, Poly Road in Ado-Ekiti. The motorcycle, a TVS model worth N800,000, belonged to Jide Olaosebikan.
Adeniyi stated that Jimoh’s alleged actions violated Section 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021. He requested an adjournment to review the case file and prepare his witnesses.
Jimoh pleaded not guilty to the charges. His defense lawyer, Femi Olarewaju, requested bail for his client, assuring the court of Jimoh’s intention to comply with bail conditions.
Chief Magistrate Dolamu Babalogbon granted Jimoh bail in the amount of N50,000, with one surety of equal value. The case was adjourned to September 4 for further proceedings.
