#EndSARS: DJ Switch Celebrates ECOWAS Court Verdict

DJ Switch

Obianuju Udeh, widely known as DJ Switch, has hailed the recent judgment by the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice regarding the contentious #EndSARS protest as a significant victory.

DJ Switch expressed that she and other victims had confidence in the undeniable nature of the facts and evidence they presented to the court, despite facing numerous discouragements.

According to the DAILY POST, the ECOWAS court recently ruled that the Federal Government should compensate DJ Switch, Perpetual Kamsi, and Dabiraoluwa Adeyinka with N2 million each for the violation of their rights.

However, DJ Switch emphasized the profound emotional trauma they all endured and the life-altering changes they had to undergo.

She acknowledged that they managed to persevere and that the ECOWAS court’s decision had a notably positive impact.

In a social media post on Thursday, she wrote:

“#ENDSARS: After a three-year battle against the Nigerian government at the ECOWAS court, justice was served yesterday! We won!

“Like many, I had little faith in any branch of service in Nigeria, but the ECOWAS court, the highest court on the continent, gave us hope. Despite jokes about its chairman, Bola Tinubu, being the illegal president of Nigeria, we pressed on, trusting that the facts and evidence we presented would be irrefutable.

“To those who question the lengthy process, understand that most court cases take time, especially when the respondent, in this case, the Nigerian government, tries to delay proceedings with excuses and requests for adjournments. We had to remain patient and steadfast.

“I can’t fully describe the emotional trauma and life changes we’ve faced, but with professional help, we’ve managed to cope, and this verdict has certainly made a positive impact.

“I have never wavered in sharing my experiences. I am grateful to my lawyers for their diligent presentation of our case and to the judges for their thorough examination.

“Hearing the verdict yesterday, which indicted the Nigerian government for the events of October 20, 2020, was one of the best moments of my life since that horrific day. It legally vindicates us all. Without room for corruption, justice can prevail.

“Unless the government obstructs the court’s instructions, I can finally focus on other passions, which I look forward to sharing with you all.

“Naysayers can shout all they want! It is now legally recorded who the real criminals were.”
