When Will Soyinka Evaluate Tinubu’s Administration?

Tinubu and Soyinka
Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka promised to assess President Bola Tinubu’s administration after its first year in office.

Soyinka, who was vocally opposed to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s attempts to remove the fuel subsidy and raise fuel prices to ₦140 per liter, claimed at the time that the subsidy did not exist.
Now, with President Tinubu having eliminated the same “non-existent” subsidy and fuel prices soaring to ₦1,000 per liter, Soyinka has remained noticeably silent.
It is time to remind Soyinka that the present moment is critical for voicing concerns and holding the government accountable.
