Osun State Government Closes Schools in Anticipation of Upcoming Protests

The Osun State Government has announced the closure of all public and private schools as a precautionary measure in response to the ‘End Bad Governance’ protests scheduled for August 1-10, 2024. This directive, issued on Monday, aims to ensure the safety of students during the demonstrations.

The Permanent Secretary of Education, Mr. Kehinde Jimoh, conveyed the following in a statement: “In light of the planned nationwide protests, we are instructing all schools to commence their third-term vacation starting Wednesday, July 31, 2023. This decision is made to safeguard students during the protest period.”

Parents and guardians are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of their children throughout the vacation period.
