Taskforce Issues Strong Warning For Resident To Stop Patronising Okada Riders

The Lagos State Taskforce has strongly advised residents to cease using motorcycle taxis, known as ‘Okada’ riders, due to significant safety and security concerns.

The agency highlighted that Okada operations present considerable risks to passengers and jeopardize overall community security. They noted that these motorcycles are frequently used by criminals to evade capture, increasing the security threat.

This warning follows a six-hour crackdown on Okada operators throughout various Lagos areas, including Badagry Expressway, Mile 2, and Second Rainbow Bus Stop. CSP Adetayo Akerele, Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, underscored the dangers associated with Okada use.

Under the direction of CP Adegoke Fayoade, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, the operation aimed to address these issues. Taskforce spokesperson Gbadeyan Abdulraheem reiterated the call for residents to avoid Okada services due to the risks involved.
