Bandits Kidnap District Head and Six Others in Kaduna

Bandits have kidnapped Yakubu Jadi, the district head of Garu Kurama in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, along with six other residents of Gurzan Kurama village. The victims include the local Catholic church catechist and the district head’s daughter.

While Kaduna State police have not yet confirmed the incident, the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) reported through its spokesperson, Josiah Abraks, that the abductions occurred on the night of Friday, August 23.
According to SOKAPU, the bandits have not yet reached out to the families of those taken. The organization condemned the incident as both alarming and distressing, calling on security agencies and relevant authorities to work diligently for the victims’ swift and safe return.
SOKAPU also urged the Federal Government to enhance efforts in protecting citizens’ lives and properties and advised local communities to be vigilant, report suspicious activities to the authorities, and stay organized to improve their safety.
