Tuggar Encourages Foreign Investment as 20 Nigerians Receive German Scholarships

Yusuf Tuggar, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has urged international investors to consider Nigeria for their investments, highlighting the country’s vast potential. His remarks were made during an event in Germany celebrating the awarding of scholarships to 20 Nigerians for studies at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin.
According to a statement from Alkasim Abdulkadir, Special Assistant to the Minister on Media and Communications Strategy, Tuggar outlined the Nigerian government’s efforts to enhance the country’s investment climate. These efforts include microeconomic reforms, the removal of fuel subsidies, and the unification of the currency exchange rate.
Tuggar emphasized the importance of the Global North investing in infrastructure rather than focusing solely on geopolitical issues. He commended ESMT for its support in providing scholarships and congratulated the Nigerian students on their achievement. Tuggar noted that these scholarships will help advance Nigeria’s growth by fostering knowledge and skills development.
The scholarships were announced at a special dinner hosted by Lars Windhorst, a German entrepreneur and co-founder of Sapinda Group, held at the China Club in Berlin. The event was attended by notable figures, including Jörg Rocholl, President of ESMT Berlin. Tuggar expressed gratitude to Windhorst for his generosity and support.
