Abeokuta, September 4, 2024 – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta South Local Government has officially presented three shortlisted candidates for the chairmanship position in the upcoming November council elections.
After a rigorous selection process that attracted over 23 candidates from the 15 wards within the local government, party officials narrowed down the field to aspirants from Abeokuta South Constituency 2. This decision reflects the political weight of Constituency 1, which is home to several high-profile figures, including two ministers, a commissioner, the senatorial chairman, and the chair of the Local Organizing Committee for the National Sports Festival.
Following thorough discussions, the APC leadership has put forward the following three candidates for consideration:
– Babatunde Adeluola (Delu)
– Ayo Shomide (AY-Show)
– Akamo Sunday Oluwagbemiga (Akamo)
This stage of the selection has been noted for its calm and organized nature, marking a significant moment in the local political landscape.
