200 Students Awarded Scholarships by Oyetola’s Education Support Scheme; See their States

Approximately 200 students from Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, Anambra, and Benue states have received scholarship grants through the Ilerioluwa Education Support Scheme, spearheaded by Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

The students, all of whom achieved JAMB scores above 200, were presented with their scholarships over the weekend at the Tinubu/Shettima campaign office in Osogbo, Osun State.

The scholarship presentation was overseen by Engr. Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), who is also a key facilitator of the scheme.

Engr. Badmus explained that the initiative, which began four years ago, aims to give back to the community by supporting young people. He noted, “This is the fourth edition of the programme. We started by covering JAMB registration fees for students and have since expanded to provide grants to those who achieved high scores.”

He also mentioned that the majority of the beneficiaries are from Osun, with additional recipients from Ogun, Ekiti, Anambra, and Benue states.
