See How Police Arrest Suspected Ritualists and Armed Robbers in Osogbo, Osun State

The Osun State Police Command has announced the arrest of seven individuals in connection with the possession of human body parts. This information was shared with journalists during a press conference at the Command headquarters in Osogbo on Wednesday.

The suspects include Johnson Daniel, Adetunji Okunade, Olaniyan Azeez, Balogun Temitope Asimiyu, Oladapo Hammed, Kazeem Rasak, and Asaka Rauf.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Giwa-Alade Emmanuel explained that the arrests followed credible information from a concerned citizen, revealing that Johnson Daniel, a mortuary attendant at Ipetu-Ijesa, was allegedly selling human remains to native doctors.

According to Giwa-Alade, the suspects used these remains for various ritual purposes. Daniel admitted to colluding with another mortuary attendant, Adetunji Okunade, to sell water used for bathing corpses to interested parties.

During the investigation, searches at the suspects’ homes yielded fragments believed to be human skulls at the residences of Asaka Rauf and Oladapo Hammed, while a female panty and a notebook containing ritual instructions were found at Balogun Temitope Asimiyu’s home.

Giwa-Alade confirmed that the suspects have been charged in court.

In a related case, the police also paraded Taiwo Adekunle, Adebayo Opeyemi, Hasan Ibrahim, Oba Wasiu, and Olajide Oladapo for alleged armed robbery. Items recovered during their arrest included a Ford Jeep (registration number SMK945OS), a Hunter motorcycle (registration number WWD604QF), an empty shell cartridge, an iPhone, and a magnet.
