Emir Sanusi Responds to Ex-President Jonathan Over How he was sacked

Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has addressed former President Goodluck Jonathan’s assertion regarding his removal from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Sanusi emphasized that he was indeed sacked, countering Jonathan’s claim that he was merely suspended for an investigation into the alleged disappearance of $49.8 billion.

This exchange occurred during the launch of the book “Public Policy and Agents Interests: Perspectives From The Emerging World,” where Jonathan dismissed allegations that his administration dismissed Sanusi for exposing governmental corruption.

Sanusi, who co-authored the book with Dr. Shamshudeen Usman, a former Minister of Planning under Jonathan, took the stage shortly after Jonathan’s remarks. He reaffirmed his position, stating, “I was constructively dismissed by my boss. I respect Jonathan and hold no grudges against anyone.”
