25-Year-Old Son Arrested for Fatal Stabbing of his Father in Lagos

The Lagos State Police have arrested a 25-year-old man, Chibunnma Chimelie, in connection with the stabbing death of his 68-year-old father.

Police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday. The stabbing occurred around 10:00 PM on Thursday in the Isolo area.

According to Hundeyin, the victim’s other son alerted the authorities after receiving a call from a neighbor, who reported a conflict between the father and Chimelie, who lived with his father. Upon arriving at the scene, the brother found his father deceased in a pool of blood.

Responding to the report, police quickly arrived and apprehended the suspect. Investigators recovered a blood-stained knife near the victim’s body. Photographs were taken, and the body was transported to the General Hospital in Isolo, where a doctor confirmed the victim’s death. The remains have since been placed in the hospital’s morgue.
