How Nnamdi Kanu’s Case is a Crucial Test for Justice Kekere-Ekun, Says Obidigbo

Obidigbo has emphasized that the situation surrounding Nnamdi Kanu is a significant challenge for Justice Kekere-Ekun, suggesting that there are ongoing, targeted efforts to destabilize the Igbo community and exacerbate social unrest in the Southeast.
He remains hopeful that the appointment of a new female Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) will help separate political machinations from the legal proceedings against Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
“I was encouraged by the new CJN’s commitment to restoring the judiciary as a true pillar of justice for all Nigerians. She highlighted that improving the judiciary is a shared responsibility, and that a stronger judicial system ultimately benefits everyone in the country,” he stated.
Obidigbo believes that Kanu’s case will serve as a critical test for the Chief Justice, determining whether political interests will continue to exploit the situation or if Kanu will finally receive the justice he deserves, free from the injustices of forced extradition and ambiguous legal processes.
