Access Bank Announces Temporary Service Disruption for System Upgrade

Access Bank has informed customers about a temporary service shutdown scheduled for a system upgrade designed to enhance its services.

 

In a message sent to customers on Tuesday, the bank outlined that the upgrade will occur in phases, starting on Saturday, October 12, at 10 PM and concluding on Sunday, October 13, at 6:30 AM.

 

During this period, users may experience disruptions to the Access More app, Internet Banking, and ATMs. The bank reassured customers that their cards will remain functional, and the *901# service will still be operational for transferring funds, purchasing airtime and data, and making bill payments.

 

The communication stated, “Dear Valued Customer, as part of our ongoing efforts to serve you better, we are initiating a comprehensive system upgrade. This upgrade will take place in phases, starting on Saturday, October 12, at 10 PM and ending on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 6:30 AM (West African Time).”

 

Access Bank emphasized that while there will be temporary service interruptions on certain platforms, customers can continue to use their cards and the *901# service without issues.

 

Once the upgrade is complete, full service will be restored across all channels. The bank also committed to keeping customers updated on future phases of the upgrade.

 

Additionally, The FIRST CLASS GISTS reports that both the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Body of Banks’ Chief Executive Officers have raised concerns regarding the ongoing criticisms of Nigerian banks on social media. The Central Bank of Nigeria has reiterated its dedication to maintaining the stability of the financial system, noting that regular stress tests are performed to identify any potential vulnerabilities within banks.
