Nigerian Air Force Launches Major Strikes, Wiping Out Boko Haram Fighters in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the successful elimination of numerous Boko Haram terrorists during airstrikes on October 25 in Bula Marwa, Borno State. This information was shared by Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, in a statement from Abuja.

According to Akinboyewa, Bula Marwa had been identified as a crucial meeting point for high-profile Boko Haram figures. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions confirmed increased terrorist activities, including an influx of motorcycles and gatherings of armed combatants.

In response, NAF deployed fighter jets for an air interdiction mission after ISR footage revealed terrorists congregating on motorcycles. The first strike effectively engaged these targets, and follow-up airstrikes were conducted as terrorists attempted to assess the damage and evacuate their wounded.

Further ISR missions on the same day identified another group of terrorists meeting under a large tree, prompting additional precision airstrikes that resulted in significant casualties among the terrorists.

These operations represent a critical effort by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai to disrupt terrorist activities in northeastern Nigeria. The NAF remains steadfast in its commitment to executing precise missions, whether in collaboration with other forces or independently, to eradicate terrorism and safeguard national security.
