Kano Police Arrest Wife and Associates of Wanted Chadian Terrorist Ahmad Adam Abba

The Kano State Police Command has apprehended the wife and several associates of Ahmad Adam Abba, a suspected Chadian terrorist linked to the massacre of 17 people in Chad. The arrests took place just before the National Tijjaniyya Maulud ceremony at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano last week.
Commissioner of Police Salman Garba confirmed the arrests during a press briefing in Kano on Friday. He stated that Abba, who remains at large, was allegedly planning to establish a terrorist base in the city.
The police have arrested three individuals connected to Abba, including his wife, a fellow Chadian named Jibrin Mohammed, and a Nigerian accomplice. Garba revealed that following intelligence gathering, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were discovered, with investigations continuing.
“Acting on crucial intelligence, we were able to apprehend three individuals associated with the wanted terrorist. These individuals, including his wife and two others, are now in custody, and investigations are ongoing,” Garba explained.
He further mentioned that the police command has increased efforts to gather intelligence across the state, working closely with other security agencies and local communities to identify potential threats.
“Our teams are strengthening surveillance in areas susceptible to criminal activity, and we continue to collaborate with intelligence networks to enhance security,” Garba added.
The commissioner emphasized the importance of public awareness and cooperation in preventing crime. Through the police’s public relations unit, the command will continue to engage with the community, urging citizens to report any suspicious activities to help ensure the safety of the region.
