See Reasons Bauchi State Government Announces School Closure

The Bauchi State government has declared a five-week closure of all schools in the state to accommodate the 2025 Ramadan fast. This decision is part of the approved school calendar for the 2024-2025 academic year.
According to the Information Officer of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Jalaludeen Maina, the closure was planned well in advance and has been included in the academic calendar.
The holiday will begin on March 1 and end on April 5.
Maina confirmed that this closure applies to all educational institutions in the state, including public and private primary schools, junior and senior secondary schools, as well as higher education institutions.
“This decision aligns with our 2024-2025 academic calendar to ensure that students can observe Ramadan without the pressure of school activities. After the fasting period, students will resume their studies and continue their academic sessions,” he explained.
