The Executive Chairman of Oriade South LCDA, Hon. Ajimati Oladeji Benedict, visited Ipetu Ijesa Thursday Market and the Primary Health Centre at Omi Odo on Thursday, April 10th. This visit came after a meeting he had on Wednesday, April 9th with the Iyaloja, Babaloja and others prominent people of the town to talk about problems affecting the market and community.

Visit to the Market

During the visit, the NURTW representative showed Hon. Ajimati a part of the market where traders and drivers throw refuse. He also explained that one side of the road is being planned for a mosque project for Muslims in the market. Hon. Ajimati promised that before next Wednesday, he will bring a grader to level the ground. This will help traders move around easily and also make space for the proposed mosque.

The Iyaloja and Babaloja also took Hon. Ajimati to a part of the market with bad drainage. Water stays on the road, making it hard to walk through. The Chairman promised to grade the road properly, so water won’t gather there again.

They also showed him another area filled with refuse and dirt. Hon. Ajimati said he will clear the refuse and grade the place to make the road neat and easy for traders to use.

He also ordered the Babaloja to give out the empty shops in the market to traders freely, for six months. He said this will help reduce the number of traders on the road and make the market safer for everyone.

The Babaloja showed him an old, damaged market buildings and said some people want to renovate it and rent it out to traders. Hon. Ajimati said he’s ready to work with anyone who wants to develop the market, and told Babaloja to invite those interested people to meet with him.

Health Workers Quaters
The APC Ward 10 Chairman, who was also there, advised Babaloja to help manage space better in the market so that traders, motorcycles, and vehicles can all move around safely.

*Visit to the Health Centre*

After the market visit, Hon. Ajimati went to check the Primary Health Centre in Ipetu Ijesa. He saw a plaque with Governor Ademola Adeleke’s name, claiming he renovated the place. Hon. Ajimati addressed the people that the renovation was actually done by the immediate Past Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, and that some PDP members changed the plaque to give false credit to Governor Ademola Adeleke, that he was the one that renovated the Primary Health Center and also challenges the PDP members that did so to disist from misinforming the peopleÂ
Inside the health centre, the staff took him to their quarters, where they complained about a leaking roof. Hon. Ajimati said he will write to the right authorities to fix the roof. They also showed him their laboratory and talked about the equipment they don’t have. Hon. Ajimati promised to support them and work on providing the things they need, saying that health is very important to him and his administration.
Among the people that accompanied him to the market and Primary Health Center were Hon. Rasaq, Hon. BaKare Kehinde, Oriade South Vice Chairman, Ward 10 APC Chairman.
