Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially rolled out a digital identity card system and an online registration portal for members of his Obidient Movement, both within Nigeria and abroad, First Class Gists reports.

The announcement was made through a statement jointly signed in Abuja by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the movement’s National Coordinator, and Nana Kazaure, Director of Strategic Communications and Media.

According to the statement, the newly introduced ID cards feature a unique QR code for verification, as well as the national flag of the holder’s country of residence displayed on the top right corner, helping to identify supporters in the diaspora.

“The registration portal is designed to accommodate both Nigerian residents and members of the diaspora,” the statement noted. “The inclusion of a country flag helps reflect the global spread and unity of the Obidient Movement. Whether in Nigeria or overseas, every card starts with the prefix ‘OBX’ to maintain consistency.”

The embedded QR code allows for real-time authentication, making it easy for members to confirm each other’s identities using smartphones or any QR-enabled device.

“This feature enhances trust and encourages secure interaction among supporters,” the statement added. “If someone claims to be Obidient, you can simply scan their QR code or look up their OBX ID online to verify their authenticity—whether for collaboration, support, or business.”

The move is seen as a step toward organizing and strengthening the Obidient community, promoting transparency, and building a network of verified supporters worldwide.
