Wole Oke Embraces APC with Massive Backing from Constituents
In a significant political development, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, the distinguished representative of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). His transition from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was formally recognized today at the National Assembly in Abuja, where he was warmly welcomed by a prominent delegation of APC leaders from Ijesa North.
The APC delegation was led by the Osun State Party Chairman, Alhaji Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, who was joined by a host of influential figures, including High Chief Emiola Ogunsanya, Hon. Isaac Felix Aboge, Hon. Israel Tomi Aloba, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, Hon. Chief Kayode Ajewole (Golo), Hon. Lasun Ogunsanya, Barr. Nathaniel Ojo, Hon. Chief Ademola Ajibola, Hon. Oyewole Oyebamiji, Bashorun Tayo Omojowogbe, Hon. Oluyide, and Barr. Seun Odofin. Their strong turnout underlined the importance of Hon. Oke’s decision and the APC’s united front as political activities gear up in the region.
Alhaji Lawal, while receiving the lawmaker, applauded Oke for his bold move and dedication to the development of his constituency. He described Oke’s arrival as a win for inclusive and people-driven politics in Osun State, and a reflection of APC’s growing appeal.
Expressing his delight, High Chief Emiola Ogunsanya acknowledged that bringing Hon. Oke into the APC fold had been a long-term objective. “Today is monumental for Ijesa North. Hon. Wole Oke is a leader with strong grassroots ties and proven leadership. His entry into APC signals a brighter future for our region,” he stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Hon. Isaac Aboge and Hon. Israel Tomi Aloba hailed the defection as a positive shift. They affirmed their commitment to partnering with Hon. Oke to advance the APC’s mission and better serve the people of the constituency.
With Hon. Oke’s alignment with the APC now official, political analysts suggest that the party’s influence in Osun East Senatorial District will be significantly enhanced. His move is expected to energize grassroots support and strengthen the APC’s strategic position in Ijesa North.
