Wike Mocks Fubara: Secondus, Omehia, Sekibo Couldn’t Deliver 10% for Atiku

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has mocked Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State over his claim that some former supporters of ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar are now backing President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking at a New Year banquet on Thursday in Port Harcourt, Fubara mentioned that Prince Uche Secondus, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, Alabo Abiye Sekibo, and former Governor Sir Celestine Omehia are aligning with him and Tinubu.
Wike, however, dismissed the claim, noting that these figures failed to deliver even 10 percent of votes for Atiku during the 2023 presidential election.
Addressing supporters in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA) Local Government Area of Rivers State yesterday, Wike assured full support for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential race.
He said, “I heard someone say, ‘Those who worked for Atiku are back.’ But they couldn’t even give Atiku 10 percent in 2023, so what advantage is that? We will ensure Tinubu gets all the support he needs.”
Wike also fired back at Ohanaeze President-General, John Mbata, who had labeled him a “semi-illiterate.”
He said, “Ordinarily, I wouldn’t respond, but I have to. Someone, a former senator, called me semi-illiterate, yet that same person dropped out of Rivers State University while studying law. I, on the other hand, graduated from the University of Port Harcourt, attended law school, and today, I am a life bencher. The semi-illiterate holds the fourth-highest national award in Nigeria.”
