NLNG Apoints Leye Falade as New CEO – Meet the Veteran Executive and His Oil Industry Twin, Gbite

Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) has announced the appointment of Leye Falade as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Philip Mshelbila on April 26.
Falade currently serves as managing director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, a role he has held since April 2024. Before that, he was Shell Namibia’s country chair from September 2023 to April 2024 and held the position of general manager, production, at NLNG from May 2019 to September 2023.
Earlier in his career, Falade gained international experience as regional AMS implementation manager at Shell in The Hague, Netherlands, from May 2018 to April 2019. He also served as operations manager at NLNG between July 2015 and May 2018.
NLNG highlights that the incoming CEO brings extensive experience across upstream and midstream operations in seven countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Africa. He is recognized for his expertise in gas and petroleum operations, product optimization, engineering, business improvement, and change management.
Falade holds an engineering degree and an MBA from Henley Business School, United Kingdom, marking him as a seasoned energy professional ready to lead NLNG into its next phase.
