Kano LG Secretary Kidnapped in Pre-Dawn Raid

In Kano,The Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area, Hamza Musa, was reportedly abducted by unknown assailants in the early hours of Saturday, according to local sources.
It was reported that eyewitnesses told Sunday Punch that about six gunmen stormed Musa’s residence in Dinya town, executing the operation swiftly and without firing a single shot. One source explained that the kidnappers used deception to gain entry.
“They told Musa’s son, who was at home, to pretend to be sick to lure his father to the door. Once he opened it, the gunmen forced their way in and took Musa away, later releasing the son unharmed,” the source said.
As of Sunday evening, the Kano State Police Command had not issued an official statement. Attempts by The Guardianto reach the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna, were unsuccessful.
Residents expressed fear and concern over the incident, highlighting the growing insecurity in parts of Kano State. Analysts say such targeted abductions, especially of local government officials, raise questions about the effectiveness of current security measures ,according to Daily Times.
Efforts by law enforcement to rescue Musa are ongoing, while community leaders have appealed for calm and cooperation with security agencies to ensure a safe recovery.
