K-RAD’S LAWYERS DEMAND RETRACTION, APOLOGY FROM ASEJERE YOUTHS VANGUARD
Counsel Gives 24-Hour Ultimatum Over Alleged Defamatory Press Release
The legal team of Mr. Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN (K-RAD) has demanded the immediate retraction and public apology over a press release issued by the Asejere Youths Vanguard concerning their client.
In a letter dated September 5, 2026, signed by MURITALA O. ABDUL-RASHEED, SAN, Ph.D, counsel accused the group of publishing statements which, according to him, falsely associated K-RAD and his media team with “manufactured images,” “AI-generated visuals,” “exaggerated publicity” and “unverified claims.”
The lawyers said the publication questioned the authenticity of a presidential birthday message issued in honour of K-RAD and argued that the statements created the impression that their client had fabricated or knowingly circulated a false presidential communication.
Describing the allegations as false, malicious, reckless and defamatory, the lawyers said the publication had attacked the integrity and professional reputation of their client, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
The legal team also expressed concern over what it described as increasing personal attacks against K-RAD by persons associated with the political camp of Mr. Gani Olaoluwa, stressing that political disagreement should not descend into what it described as reckless attacks on a person’s reputation.
The lawyers have consequently demanded that the Asejere Youths Vanguard and other parties involved:
– Withdraw and retract the publication in its entirety;
– Publish an unreserved written apology to K-RAD in two national daily newspapers and on all social media platforms where the publication appeared; and
– Cease and desist from further publication or repetition of the alleged defamatory statements.
The demands are to be complied with within 24 hours of receipt of the letter.
The lawyers further warned that failure to comply would leave their client with no option but to institute appropriate legal proceedings against the Asejere Youths Vanguard, its spokesperson Mr. Elénìyàn Amos Oyeyemi, and other persons identified in the letter as allegedly responsible for the publication and republication.
The development adds a new legal dimension to the ongoing political exchanges surrounding K-RAD and the forthcoming political contests in Osun State.
