Edo Deputy Gov, Shaibu Moves Out Of Edo Govt House On Obaseki’s Order

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu is currently moving out of the Government House, Benin City.

Recall that the state governor, Godwin Obaseki had last week relocated his deputy’s office out of government house.

The development came amid the feud between the duo over Shaibu’s 2024 governorship ambition and following the lawsuit the deputy governor filed against Obaseki to stop his removal from office.

However, despite withdrawing the suit from the court, last week, it was gathered that the state government insisted that the Deputy Governor move his office out of government house.

A top official in Office of the Deputy Governor, confided in this newspaper that the directive came on Monday in a letter signed by the Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, on behalf of the state government.

A visit to the new office located at No. 7, Osadebe Avenue, GRA, showed some staff in the Deputy Governor’s office moving files and other office equipment from the Government House into the new office.

Earlier, the state government had carried out a marathon maintenance on the new office which was hitherto an abandoned old building formerly used by the state Procurement Agency.
