A Rare Gift to Humanity”: Oyebamiji Hails Osun Ex-Speaker Timothy Owoeye at 53

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO, has eulogized the immediate past Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Timothy Owoeye on the occasion of his 53rd birthday anniversary.

He described the astute politician as an enigma and a rare gift to humanity whose existence has impacted tremendously in all spheres of life.

Owoeye is one of the highly placed grassroots politicians in Osun, having served at different capacities- an elected Councillor of Ward 10, Ilesa-East between 1999-2002 after which he was consecutively elected four times into the State House of Assembly, as a lawmaker representing Ilesa-East State Constituency between 2007-2023.

The ex-speaker was elected a Minority Leader of the House between 2007-2010 and became the Majority Leader in 2011 before he was later elected Speaker of the House in 2019. He is the Chairman AMBO Movement Campaign Team – a political bulwark rooting for the emergence of Oyebamiji as APC governorship candidate and next Governor of Osun State.

Oyebamiji, who is a leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming Osun governorship election, extolled Owoeye’s genuine love for his state and fervent services to humanity, particularly people of his immediate constituency and Osun citizens in general, described him as an embodiment of Omoluabi ethos, integrity, selflessness, hardwork, humility, honesty and steadfastness.

NIWA Boss specifically lauded Owoeye’s developmental-driven legislations while in the House of Assembly most importantly the enactments of Osun Amotekun law, anti-kidnapping law, establishment of University of Ilesa law, environmental protection bill, local government amendment and independent electoral commission bill, Osun state disability law among other physical and tangible achievements.

While commending Owoeye’s immense contributions to the growth and development of the party – the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state and beyond, Oyebamiji said “indeed, Mr Speaker remains an indispensable companion in the wheels of progress of our party as a formidable driving voice and outstanding rally point for electoral victories and triumphs”.

He lauded Owoeye’s unflinching support, unalloyed and genuine commitment and dedication to AMBO project since its inauguration, noting that his leadership quality and sterling performance have kept the movement going and made it waxing stronger.
