*A Thoughtful Journey to Wisdom and Guidance: Osun Campaign Council Engages Elder Statesmen in a Renewed Drive for Unity, Strength, and Electoral Victory.*

In a clear show of respect for age, experience, and the enduring place of elders in political leadership, the Osun State Campaign Council paid a significant visit to foremost elder statesman, Alhaji Shuaibu Oyedokun, at his residence in Inisa. The visit was calm, purposeful, and deeply symbolic, reflecting the Council’s understanding that no meaningful political journey succeeds without the blessings and guidance of those who have walked the path before.

This visit came shortly after the Council had earlier met with another respected pillar of the progressive family, Chief Bisi Akande. Taken together, both engagements underline a deliberate effort by the Council to reach out widely, consult deeply, and build consensus across the ranks of party leadership as preparations gather momentum.

At the heart of these visits is the resolve to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, in the gubernatorial election slated for August 15, 2026. The Council is not leaving anything to chance, combining strategy with humility by seeking not just political support, but also prayers and wise counsel from respected leaders.

Speaking during the visit, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, stressed the importance of learning from experience, especially at a time when critical decisions must be made. He noted that politics, at its core, is strengthened by consultation and guided by the wisdom of those who have seen different seasons of leadership. According to him, Baba Oyedokun remains a symbol of discipline, foresight, and commitment to progressive ideals, making his guidance invaluable at this moment.

Hon. Oke further explained that the visit was not merely ceremonial, but a sincere effort to seek Baba’s blessings and direction as the Council carries out the responsibility entrusted to it by the party. He emphasized that moral and spiritual backing from respected elders often makes the difference in moments of political contest.

The delegation was made up of key figures within the Campaign Council, including regional coordinators and federal constituency leaders, alongside principal secretaries who play vital roles in the day-to-day coordination of the campaign. Their presence reflected unity, seriousness, and a shared commitment to the task ahead. The immediate past Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, also joined the visit, reinforcing the inclusive and collective nature of the movement.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello expressed deep appreciation to Baba Oyedokun for his continuous guidance and prayers. He offered heartfelt prayers in return, noting that the grace and wisdom Baba carries remain a source of inspiration to all who seek to serve.

Responding warmly, Baba Oyedokun welcomed the delegation and commended their approach. Drawing from his wealth of experience, he offered practical advice and encouraged them to remain focused, united, and disciplined. He also gave his blessings and assured the Council of his support as they move forward.

Beyond the visit itself, the engagement reflects a broader commitment by the Campaign Council to build its efforts on a solid foundation of unity, consultation, and respect. As the election draws closer, the Council continues to demonstrate that true strength lies not just in numbers, but in the ability to listen, learn, and carry everyone along on the journey to success.
