Adelabu adebayo, Minister of Power
Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, has pledged that electricity will be restored to the 17 northern states experiencing blackouts due to the vandalism of the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line within the next five days.
Adelabu made this commitment on Monday during a briefing with State House reporters following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu. He stated that repairs on the damaged transmission line would be completed within three to five days.
The minister noted that the President has directed the National Security Adviser and other security leaders to ensure adequate protection for the workers involved in the repairs.
“With the necessary security measures in place, the staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria and contractors will feel secure in carrying out their work,” Adelabu explained.
He appealed to the residents of the northern states to remain patient, assuring them that power will soon be restored, and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to safeguard the national grid from further vandalism.
