AJAYI ROGBA’S DEATH: OLUWOLE OKE’S AIDE FAULTS PELUMI OLAJENGBESI’S ALLEGATIONS, CALLS FOR THOROUGH POLICE INVESTIGATION

We received with deep shock and sadness the news of the death of Ajayi Rogba, a young man in his prime. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Esa Oke community. No family deserves to endure such a painful loss, and we pray that God grants his loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable tragedy.
At a moment like this, humanity must come before politics. The life lost cannot be replaced, and it is only proper that we all approach this situation with sincerity, restraint, and respect for the truth.
However, it is both unfortunate and disappointing that Mr. Pelumi Olajengbesi has chosen this sensitive moment to make hasty, unverified, and inflammatory allegations against Hon. Oluwole Oke and the APC. Such conclusions, made without any credible investigation or security report, are not only premature but deeply irresponsible.
Available information within the community suggests that the incident may be connected to internal clashes among rival groups, a matter which security agencies are already better positioned to investigate. We strongly believe that the Nigeria Police and other relevant authorities should be allowed to carry out a thorough, unbiased investigation to establish the true circumstances surrounding this unfortunate death.
While we sympathize with Mr. Olajengbesi’s emotional state, it is important to state clearly that grief must not be weaponized into reckless accusations. Leadership demands responsibility, especially in moments of crisis. Making direct allegations against individuals and political parties without evidence only heightens tension and misleads the public.
It is equally contradictory that Mr. Olajengbesi claims close association with the deceased, yet appears unaware of widely discussed concerns about his background within the community. Regardless of any past allegations or character issues, every life remains valuable and must not be exploited for political sensationalism.
We therefore firmly state that Hon. Oluwole Oke and the APC have no connection whatsoever to the death of Ajayi Rogba. Any attempt to link them to this incident without proof is false, misleading, and unacceptable.
As a legal practitioner, he should appreciate the importance of relying on facts, evidence, and due process rather than speculation and conjecture.
We urge Mr. Olajengbesi to exercise restraint, respect due process, and allow security agencies to carry out their duties professionally. Matters of life and death must never be trivialized or politicized.
As a people, we must rise above division and recommit ourselves to peace, truth, and lawful engagement. The memory of the deceased should be honoured through the pursuit of justice, not through the spread of unverified claims.
