Amid Hardhip Ministry of Works Allocates N2bn for Vehicle Purchase for Senior Special Assistants in 2025 Budget

The Federal Ministry of Works has earmarked N2 billion in the 2025 budget for the purchase of vehicles for senior special assistants (SSAs). This allocation is part of the broader N49.7 trillion proposed by President Bola Tinubu on December 13, aimed at stabilizing the economy, improving living standards, and driving the government’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
In his address to the joint session of the National Assembly, President Tinubu emphasized that the budget reflects the administration’s commitment to repositioning the country for growth and progress. Within the budget proposal, the N2 billion vehicle purchase falls under the Ministry of Works’ allocation, which forms a significant part of the government’s infrastructure development plan.
The ministry itself received a large share of the budget, amounting to N1.07 trillion. This includes N5.64 billion for personnel expenses, N1.86 billion for overhead costs, and N1.065 trillion set aside for capital projects aimed at improving the nation’s road infrastructure.
Additional allocations include N64.88 billion for the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, N510.09 million for the Regional Centre for Aerospace Survey, and other funds for capital development initiatives. The total budget for the Ministry of Works and its agencies stands at N1.14 trillion, with a primary focus on capital projects to boost Nigeria’s infrastructure.
