Anambra First Lady Calls for Love and Unity as Muslims Celebrate Eid-El-Fitr

The First Lady of Anambra State, Nonye Soludo, has extended warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslims across Nigeria, urging citizens to embrace love, tolerance, and unity as they mark the end of Ramadan.
In a statement released on Thursday, the First Lady, who also heads the non-governmental organisation Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, said the festive period is a time for spiritual reflection, gratitude, and community bonding. According to her, the celebrations reinforce values of charity, family cohesion, and peaceful coexistence.
“Ramadan Kareem to the Muslim Ummah in Anambra State and all across the nation,” she said. “Eid-el-Fitr reminds us that love, sacrifice, and tolerance remain the greatest foundations of harmony and mutual coexistence. As you celebrate, let your actions bring joy and smiles to those around you. Let kindness and oneness guide your interactions. Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones.”
The First Lady highlighted the importance of using the festive period to strengthen communal ties through communal prayers, charity initiatives, family visits, and the sharing of gifts. She emphasised that these practices promote generosity, unity, and joy in society.
Nonye Soludo also referenced her recent Mothering Sunday celebration, noting the profound value of motherhood. She described it as a “divine responsibility” that transcends material expressions of appreciation. “No gift or expression of love can truly measure the worth of a mother,” she stated.
According to reports by The Punch and The Guardian Nigeria, public figures across the country often use Eid-el-Fitr to promote messages of social cohesion and civic responsibility, underscoring the significance of the festival in fostering national unity.
