Atiku Criticizes Tinubu Administration for Inaction on Nigeria’s Issues

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for failing to address Nigeria’s pressing issues. He argued that if the current administration has not yet grasped the severity of the nation’s difficulties, it indicates a lack of preparedness for governance from the outset.
Atiku, speaking through his Media Adviser Paul Ibe, expressed disappointment that the government required public protests to acknowledge the urgent crises Nigerians face.
He stated, “The challenges have been evident for some time, and this was precisely why the mandate was given. The previous APC administration under Buhari made several mistakes, leading to two economic recessions and widespread issues of nepotism and corruption.”
He continued, “Under Tinubu, we are witnessing a continuation and even an escalation of these problems. The divisions that were present under Buhari have now deepened significantly. It is unrealistic to expect a reduction in the cost of basic food items when farmers are still unable to return to their farms due to ongoing insecurity.”
Atiku also criticized the management of the Dangote Refinery, pointing out that the previous administration invested $20 billion in the project, hoping it would meet domestic needs and boost exports. However, he questioned whether this investment had been mishandled or undermined by the current administration.
He concluded, “Unfortunately, there are no indications that this government is equipped to resolve our nation’s challenges.”
