Bandits Kill Aide to Katsina Governor and His Wife in Night Raid, Abduct Others

Gunmen believed to be bandits have attacked the home of Alhaji Sanusi Ango Gyaza, an aide to the Katsina State Governor, in Gyaza within the Kankia Local Government Area.
Gyaza, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) for Kankia LGA, and his wife were reported dead following the assault, which took place on Friday night. During the attack, the assailants also kidnapped his other wife.
When approached for comment, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, responded, “I will get back to you.”
In a related report, FIRST CLASS GISTS Nigeria has previously noted the kidnapping of over 20 medical and dental students, along with a House Officer, in Benue State. The victims were en route to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) annual convention in Enugu when they were ambushed by gunmen around 5:30 pm in the Otukpo area of Benue State.
The State Police Command confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Friday morning, raising concerns about the safety of the abducted individuals. One of the victims has been identified as Dr. Louis, a House Officer. The kidnappers have reportedly demanded a ransom of N50 million for their release.
