Benue PDP Suspends Ex Governor, Ortom and Three Others for Anti-Party Activities

The State Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has announced the suspension of several party members for engaging in activities deemed detrimental to the party’s interests.
The suspended members include:
– Chief Samuel Ortom, due to his endorsement of the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 election and his call for Benue PDP to support the APC in the 2027 Presidential election.
– Hon. Azua Ashongo, for severe insubordination and disciplinary issues.
Additionally, Chief Isaac Mffo and Bemgba Iortyom have also been suspended following their involvement in the illegal seizure of materials intended for the recent ward congresses held in Buruku and Ushongo local government areas.
The suspension of these members is effective from August 2, 2024.
