BIAFRA DAY: See The Names of Soldiers Killed by IPOB Terrorists

Details have emerged about the soldiers brutally murdered by members of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Earlier reports indicated that IPOB terrorists went on a rampage on Thursday, setting ablaze vehicles and tricycles, also known as Keke Napep.

On Friday, the military confirmed that at least five troops stationed at the Obikabia Junction Checkpoint in Obingwa Local Government Area near Aba in Abia State were killed.

According to a signal obtained by Daily Trust on Friday, the deceased soldiers included two Sergeants, two Corporals, and one Lance Corporal. The military also reported that six civilians were caught in the crossfire and killed. The fallen soldiers were identified as:

– Sergeant Charles Ugochukwu (94NA/38/1467)

– Sergeant Bala Abraham (03NA/53/1028)

– Corporal Gideon Egwe (10NA/65/7085)

– Corporal Ikpeama Ikechukwu (13NA/70/5483)

– Corporal Augustine Emmanuel (13NA/70/6663)

The signal detailed that on May 30, at approximately 0830 hours, troops of the 144 Battalion stationed at Obikabia Junction, Federal School Road, Ogbor Hill in Obingwa LGA were attacked by gunmen suspected to be IPOB/ESN members.

Around 30 gunmen, enforcing a Sit-At-Home order, arrived in three black Toyota Land Cruiser Jeeps and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers.

The attackers also seized five AK47 rifles, set fire to two military patrol Hilux vehicles, and injured two civilians.

The signal further mentioned that the situation in Aba remains tense, and ongoing monitoring continues as more information becomes available.
