Bode George Urges PDP to Expel Wike Over Actions Against the Party

Bode George Urges PDP to Expel Wike Over Actions Against the Party

Chief Bode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called for the expulsion of Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, from the party. George condemned Wike’s recent actions, particularly the revocation of the land housing the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, and argued that this move warrants his removal from the party.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News on Friday, George said Wike’s actions were an outright betrayal of the party, likening it to an act of war. “He has crossed the line,” George stated, emphasizing that once someone takes such drastic steps, there is no reason for them to remain a member.

He further compared Wike’s conduct to a son who takes over his father’s home, questioning how such a person could still be considered a loyal member of the party. “If you take over your father’s house, why do you still think you belong there?” George queried, insisting that Wike should be expelled from the PDP.

George also urged the party leadership to act decisively. He stressed that any failure to take appropriate action would be a disgrace to the party. “We must act, or else we are being irresponsible as party leaders,” he said. He called for a meeting with the party’s Board of Trustees and other members to address Wike’s actions.

Bias in PDP’s National Disciplinary Committee

During the same interview, George accused the PDP National Disciplinary Committee, led by Chief Tom Ikimi, of being biased in favor of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. He revealed that this bias was the main reason he declined to serve on the committee. “I cannot serve under someone who has shown clear favoritism towards Atiku,” George explained. “The way the committee was structured made it impossible for me to be a part of it.”

Supreme Court Ruling on National Secretary

Regarding the recent Supreme Court ruling that reinstated Samuel Anyanwu as the PDP National Secretary, George stated that the party must accept the decision and move forward. “The judgment is final, and we have no further options. We must comply,” he said. He added that the upcoming national convention, scheduled for later this year, would be crucial in shaping the future direction of the party amidst its ongoing challenges.
