Body of Missing Motorcyclist Found in Well in Delta State

The body of Nasiru Eneojo, a missing commercial motorcyclist, was discovered in a well in Agbarho, located in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Reports indicate that Eneojo was first reported missing on June 29, 2024. On July 10, his remains were found in a well at an abandoned filling station along Agbarho-Ughelli Road, with some body parts notably absent.

According to sources, local vigilantes in Agbarho are suspected of murdering Eneojo, removing his body parts, and stealing his motorcycle. One source revealed that a suspect was apprehended after residents recognized Eneojo’s motorcycle with a new rider and informed the police.

During police interrogation, the suspect denied any involvement in Eneojo’s death, claiming the motorcycle was given to him by a Delta Taskforce officer.

The source detailed, “In Agbarho, a motorbike rider from Kogi State was killed by local vigilantes. They disposed of his body in a well at an abandoned filling station along Agbarho-Ughelli Road, with some body parts missing. The stolen bike was eventually spotted at Orido junction in Agbarho, leading to the new rider’s arrest. However, the police are reluctant to apprehend the other suspect implicated by the new rider.”

Local chiefs have attempted to secure bail for the arrested suspect, but a soldier from Kogi State has insisted that bail should not be granted and has pushed for the case to be transferred to Asaba. The case was moved to Asaba on Monday.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe confirmed the incident, stating, “The body was recovered from a well, and three suspects connected with the death have been arrested. They are in our custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”
