Negotiations over the minimum wage between Organised Labour and President Bola Tinubu have once again concluded without a definitive agreement.
The meeting, convened by President Tinubu, ended without any substantial resolutions. Despite the lack of progress, Labour leaders stated that discussions with the Presidency will resume next week. They mentioned the necessity to consult with their respective organisations to relay the President’s discussions.
Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, confirmed that the Labour’s demand for a minimum wage of N250,000 and the Federal Government’s offer of N62,000 remain unchanged.
This ongoing dialogue is highly anticipated by Nigerians, particularly the workforce, who are eagerly awaiting a new minimum wage from the government.
