BREAKING NEWS: Ex PDP guber aspirant, BoT member join APC in Osun State

A governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi and a Board of Trustee member of the party, Shuaib Oyedokun have officially joined the All Progressive Congress, APC in the state.
The duo led thousands of their followers across the State to join the opposition party in the state in a grand reception held at the party Secretariat in Osogbo, the State capital on Friday.
They were received into the APC fold by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, The National Secretary of the party, Dr Ajibola Basiru and the State party chairman, Tajudeen Lawal.
Speaking after receiving the APC’s flag, Babayemi disclosed that good governance ended in the state with the administration of Oyetola, saying the present governor lack understanding of administration.
The last time we witnessed good governance was in 2022 when Oyetola left government and it is time we unite to send the present administration out of government house for the sake of the state’s development”, he said.
Receiving the defectors, Oyetola said the APC is a party to beat and still retain its popularity among the masses, hence, the decision to accept more like minded personalities into its folds
We are sure that our new members are progressive in their mind and your coming back home is an attestation to the fact that our party is popular and on the path of reclaiming government in the state”, he said.
Earlier in his welcome address, the party chairman, Tajudeen Lawal assured the defectors that they would have equal opportunity with other members in the party and charge them to mobilise for its growth.
