Nigeria’s national power grid has experienced its first major collapse of 2025, just days into the new year, leading to a nationwide blackout and widespread frustration among citizens.

The Energy podcast confirmed the event, stating, “National grid suffers major collapse… First in 2025,” while another update noted, “Restoration efforts have begun… Currently generating 302 MW as of 2:40 pm.”
Further updates will follow as more details become available.
