Our Reporter Reported That the incident began when a student was reprimanded by the school head girl for wearing long earrings, prompting the prefect to forcibly remove them. Distressed by the action, the student proceeded to the nearby military checkpoint to lodge a complaint. In response, soldiers entered the school grounds, arrested the prefect, and reportedly set parts of the school on fire.

This act of aggression triggered a violent retaliation from the students, who armed themselves with sticks and pursued the soldiers, further intensifying the unrest.
