BUHARI COMMENDS TINUBU AT MIDTERM, URGES NIGERIANS TO STAY THE COURSE
PRESS RELEASE
May 28, 2025

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (@officialABAT) on reaching the midpoint of his administration, describing it as a significant milestone for both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the nation.

In a statement released today, Buhari emphasized that leadership is an ongoing journey and not a destination. He called on Nigerians to continue backing the APC-led government, highlighting that meaningful reforms require time and patience to yield results.
He cautioned against allowing political distractions to derail critical reforms and underscored the importance of national unity in driving change. According to him, efforts by the Tinubu administration to tackle inflation and poverty are vital and commendable, especially considering the toll these issues have taken on the most vulnerable.
“The scale of the challenge is too great for government to handle alone. The private sector and everyday citizens must also play their part,” Buhari noted.
He encouraged Nigerians to maintain hope and trust in the nation’s future, while keeping their expectations realistic.
In closing, Buhari shared a message of goodwill:
“My warmest congratulations to President Tinubu on completing two years in office. May your leadership continue to be guided by wisdom and compassion.”
Signed,
Garba Shehu
