Court Denies Binance Executive Gambaryan’s New Bail Request

A Federal High Court in Abuja has turned down a new bail request from Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive who is currently detained on money laundering charges.
Justice Emeka Nwite ruled that Gambaryan’s previous bail application, which was based on health concerns, is still under appeal. He stated that the latest request represents an abuse of the court’s process since there is already a pending appeal regarding the initial bail denial.
Gambaryan was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and has been in custody while facing these serious charges. His legal team has been advocating for his release, citing a decline in his health.
The defense argued that Gambaryan has a disk issue that requires immediate medical intervention, supported by medical reports from the State House Annex Clinic in Abuja, which recommend surgery.
In response, the EFCC disputed these claims, asserting that Nigerian hospitals are fully equipped to handle Gambaryan’s medical needs. They also provided a report from Nizamiye Hospital that contradicted his family’s claims, stating he is not in a condition where he “can no longer walk.”
