There is growing tension within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following a dispute over the planned party congress. The party’s National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, had announced the congress through an official notice. However, several state chairmen later issued a statement distancing themselves from the move.
The state chairmen said they were acting on the instruction of the National Chairman, David Mark, and made it clear that they do not recognize or support the congress announced by Aregbesola, deepening the internal crisis within the party.
