C&S Church Tells Clerics to Stop Doing Rituals for Internet Scammers

The Cherubim and Seraphim Church Worldwide has called on its prophets to stop performing rituals for individuals involved in internet fraud, commonly known as “Yahoo Yahoo.”
This directive was issued during a pre-centenary revival event in Osogbo on Monday.
Senior Apostle Samuel Onigbinde, Chairman of C&S Unification in Osun State, highlighted the church’s commitment to eradicating unorthodox practices within its ranks.
Onigbinde criticized the use of fraudulent rituals by self-styled prophets, emphasizing that such actions contradict the principles of the church’s founder, Moses Orimolade, who advocated for healing through prayer, fasting, and divine intervention, rather than occult practices.
He stated, “Our mission with the Unification is to eliminate strange practices among our members. The C&S Church is not a haven for ‘Yahoo boys,’ and those using our white garments for such rituals must cease immediately.”
A committee has been established to ensure that all members adhere to the teachings of Prophet Orimolade.
Pastor Olusegun Elijah, who organized the pre-centenary revival, discussed the surge in new churches, linking it to widespread unemployment in Nigeria. He cautioned that many new churches are being established for personal gain rather than genuine spiritual guidance, which he believes is contributing to increased crime rates.
“The rise in crime, despite the growing number of religious institutions, indicates a failure of religious leaders to prioritize salvation,” Elijah noted.
He also criticized the increasing alignment of clergy with politicians, which he believes undermines their ability to hold political figures accountable. Elijah urged religious leaders to avoid political affiliations and focus on their role as moral guides.
