Dangote Group Responds to Allegations Following Road Accident Involving Phyna’s Sister

The Dangote Group has responded to recent claims made by Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, regarding a serious road accident in Auchi, Edo State, allegedly caused by one of its trucks. According to Eyes Of Lagos, the incident left Phyna’s younger sister, Ruth Otabor, with a leg amputated and the other in a critical condition.

In an official statement, Dangote Cement PLC confirmed that its senior representatives, along with their insurance team, have visited both the accident scene and the hospital where Ruth is undergoing treatment. The company said it is cooperating fully with local authorities as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.

“Following the tragic event in Auchi, our team, alongside insurance representatives, met with the victim and her family to assess the situation and offer necessary support,” the company said.

Dangote Cement also committed to covering Ruth’s medical expenses and providing compensation in accordance with its internal welfare policies. The statement emphasized the company’s dedication to assisting those impacted by such unfortunate events.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with many Nigerians calling for improved safety measures for trucks and stronger enforcement of road regulations, particularly in densely populated areas.
