Details of what Tinubu Told APC Oyo Stakeholders to do, to Reclaim Oyo in 2027

Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has called on All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders in Oyo State to set aside differences and unite in their efforts to reclaim the state from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 elections.
Tinubu made the appeal during the inaugural edition of the annual lecture series honoring the late Lam Adesina, former governor of Oyo State from 1999 to 2003. The event, held in Ibadan, was themed “Improving Nigeria’s Governance: Lessons From The Past, Strategies For The Future.”
Represented by Bayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, Tinubu emphasized that Oyo State’s importance in the political landscape could not be overlooked in future elections. He paid tribute to the late Adesina, recognizing his profound commitment to democracy and governance. According to Tinubu, Adesina’s dedication to democratic principles and service to humanity made him a lasting figure in Nigeria’s history.
“To honor his legacy, progressives in Oyo must unite and fight for the state’s return to the fold of progressivism in 2027,” Tinubu stated. “It’s time to come together and ensure the state regains its rightful place.”
The Senate Leader and guest lecturer, Opeyemi Bamidele, represented by Shuaib Salisu, also spoke at the event. He called for a renewed value system in Nigeria, one that promotes responsibility, integrity, and hard work, in contrast to the prevailing culture of corruption and moral decay.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including former Ekiti State governors Adeniyi Adebayo and Kayode Fayemi, Oyo APC governorship candidate in the 2023 election Teslim Folarin, and other political and party leaders from across the state.
Lam Adesina, who passed away in 2012, was a renowned educationist, columnist, and political figure. He was a member of the House of Representatives and a key player in the movement that ended military rule in Nigeria, earning him a special place in the nation’s democratic journey.
