DSS Arrests Blogger for Posting Fake Recruitment Notice

Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) have apprehended the individual responsible for cloning its website and publishing a fake recruitment announcement, misleading Nigerians into believing the agency was hiring.
Sylvester Victor Augustus, a 32-year-old from Abak Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, was arrested on Thursday at his residence on Akpan Eno Lane, Abak LGA. Augustus, who claims to be a graduate of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), is also a blogger and content creator.
The suspect had duplicated the DSS website and posted a fraudulent recruitment notice, likely with the aim of deceiving and defrauding unsuspecting individuals. The DSS swiftly labeled the post as fake and warned the public to be cautious of such fraudulent schemes.
Augustus is set to face charges in court shortly.
