Emir Denies Connection to Arrested Suspect, Claims Political Plot
Olalekan Oyeyemi, a student at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, commonly known as Emir, has refuted any involvement with Olatunji Damilola, who was recently arrested by the Osun State Police Command. Reports had suggested that Damilola, 20, was in possession of arms and was an aide to Emir.
In a statement released by Emir’s media team, and obtained by Osun Defender, Emir emphasized that these allegations are part of a political scheme designed to damage his reputation. The statement asserted that Damilola was pressured into making false confessions to implicate Emir.
The statement reads: “As the media team representing Olalekan Oyeyemi, known as Emir, we are compelled to address the recent arrest of Olatunji Damilola. The public and media attention surrounding this event requires clarification.
“Emir categorically states that he sees these accusations as part of a wider political conspiracy aimed at discrediting him. He denies any involvement in the alleged actions and believes that Olatunji Damilola was forced into providing false testimony against him.
“Emir remains dedicated to the improvement of our state, despite these adversities. He insists that the police conduct a thorough investigation, free from undue influence or political manipulation.
“Emir urges the authorities to prioritize fairness and justice, ensuring investigations are conducted with integrity. He condemns any attempt to use individuals for political purposes and calls for unity and honesty in the pursuit of truth and justice.
“We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding during these challenging times. Emir is committed to serving the community and protecting his reputation against unfounded accusations.”
